Security Tab Missing
Security Tab Missing issue has been bugging us for a long time. When you want to change the security settings of a Windows folder, You Right-click the respective folder and then click on properties.
However, to your dismay, you find the security tab missing from folder properties. This has nothing to do with Windows file permissions or Windows folder permissions. But, you will need the Windows security tab to modify Windows permissions. What do you do if you are in such a situation?
This might probably help:
a. Open Local Group Policy Editor by typing gpedit.msc in the Cortana search bar and press enter.
b. In the left pane, click on User Configuration => Administrative Templates => Windows Components => and click on File Explorer. c. In the right pane, right click on âRemove Security tabâ and click on Edit. d. Ensure Disabled is selected.
The above steps will fix the issue in most cases, but what will you do if you are unable to find Windows Components or File Explorer in the group policy editor?
Follow the below steps to bail you out of the frustration. The given method can be used to fix most of the issues related to group policy editor âAdministrative Templatesâ corruption. It can fix missing Windows Components related to Sharing, Previous versions, and Customize tab in Folder Properties, including no security tab issue.
Go to => C:WindowsPolicyDefinitions and rename the âPolicyDefinitions folderâ to PolicyDefinitions.OLD

In some situations, you might need to update the Group Policy settings for it to work.
Open Command Prompt in Admin mode.
Right-click Windows Start Menu, Select Command Prompt(Admin)
Copy and Paste the below command in the CMD window.
gpupdate /force
Hit Enter, Type Exit to close the command prompt window.
Note:
windowsexplorer.admx is the file associated with the security tab in Windows folder. If only that particular file is missing from C:WindowsPolicyDefinitions folder you can try to copy and paste only that file from the C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Group PolicyWindows 10 and Windows Server 2016 =>PolicyDefinitions folder.
For the enterprising, The .admx files can be opened and edited with notepad or notepad++. These are actually XML files.

The Code 10 error is one of several Device Manager error codes. It's generated when Device Manager can't start the hardware device, a situation usually caused by outdated or corrupted drivers.
A device may also receive a Code 10 error if a driver generates an error that Device Manager doesn't understand. In other words, a Code 10 error can sometimes be a very generic message indicating some kind of unspecified driver or hardware problem.
The Code 10 error will almost always display in the following way:
Details on Device Manager error codes like Code 10 are available in the Device Status area in the device's properties. See How to View a Device's Status in Device Manager for help.
The Code 10 error could apply to any hardware device in Device Manager, though most Code 10 errors appear on USB and audio devices.
Any of Microsoft's operating systems could experience a Code 10 Device Manager error including Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and more.
Important:Device Manager error codes are exclusive to Device Manager. If you see the Code 10 error elsewhere in Windows, chances are it's a system error code or software-specific error, which you should not troubleshoot as a Device Manager issue.

If you have installed Windows 10/8.1, you will notice that the upgrade comes with deep SkyDrive or OneDrive integration. The upgrade includes seamless File Explorer, Document Save, and Camera Roll integration, just to give users a fairly quick way to save files to the cloud. Having said that, SkyDrive integration lacks configuration options. There appears no option in sight to uninstall the service, should you wish to do so.
While you can always turn off & remove OneDrive Sync Data in Windows 10/8.1, if you do not use SkyDrive at all, you can disable its integration with Windows 8.1.
Follow this tutorial to learn how you can do it.
Disable OneDrive integration in Windows 10/8.1
Using Group Policy Editor
Disabling the service requires access to Group Policy editor. If your version of Windows has the Group Policy Editor, press Win+R in combination to bring up the âRunâ dialog box. In it, type gpedit.msc, and hit Enter.
From the Local Group Policy Editor that shows up, navigate to the following path:
Local Computer PolicyComputer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesWindows ComponentsSkyDrive
Then double-click on Prevent the usage of SkyDrive for file storage policy setting. Select Enabled and click Apply/OK.
Do note that when you enable this policy setting, you wonât be able to access your SkyDrive files from the SkyDrive app. The SkyDrive node will go away from the Explorer left navigation pane. File syncing will stop!
Furthermore, the changes applied will prevent apps and features from interacting with the Microsoftâs cloud storage service including:
Should you wish to reverse the changes, simply select Not Configured. After its done, all your apps and features will start functioning again, and the SkyDrive folder will appear once again in File Explorer.
Using Registry Editor
If your version of Windows does not have the Group Policy Editor, you can use the Registry Editor to disable SkyDrive integration in Windows 8.1 Type regedit in Start Search, right-click on the result and select Run as Administrator. Now create the following key, if it does not already exist:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsSkydrive
Create a new DWORD and name it DisableFileSync. Give it value 1 to disable OneDrive. To enable OneDrive, delete or give it value data 0.
Hope this helps!
See this post if you want to completely uninstall OneDrive from Windows 10 and this one if you receive This device has been removed from OneDrive message.
